Abderrahim El AllamOne of the best Moroccan specialists of Arab Literature, Abderrahim El Allam, was born in 1963.

As a literary critic, he has published more than fifteen books, including: The Poet Did Not Die, The Question of Modernism in the Moroccan Novel, The Biography of Writing, From Reform to Enlightenment, Who Tells the Story? The Narrator in the Novel "Mirrors”, among others.

In 2009, he was elected President of the Moroccan Writers Union (EMU), and has been reelected since. He’s also the director responsible for the magazine "AFAQ," issued by the Union.

He has supervised and participated in many collective cultural works and books of criticism inside and outside Morocco, including: The Elites In The Arab MaghrebModern Emirati Literature, Abdul Karim Ghellab  and The Writer And The Human.

In 2013, he became the second Arab author to receive the South-Korean “Manhae Prize” after the Kuwaiti poet Souad Assabah.

Abderrahim El Allam lives in Rabat.
