Tahar Ben Jelloun Morocco PWF 1998
He emigrated to France in 1961. He has written many books of poetry, prose and criticism and is a regular contributor to Le Monde. His work include: Solitaire; The Sand Child; The Sacred Night, which received the Prix Goncourt in 1987, and Silent Day in Tangier. Error of Night appeared during the Festival. He is a member of the jury for Le Prix Goncourt, the best French Prize for Litterature.
