Michael March: Living theater

Jean Genet viewed fascism as theater.
Today, theater defines the popular mechanics of our political world―the polarity between comfort and fear.
Today, there is no longer left―nor right―just the imbalance of possessions.
Simone Weil saw that “through the distance of time beauty saves the world.”
For her―as in ancient times―culture was the saving grace―saving us from the materialism of common sense. Culture―not materialism―brought balance―gave us time to reclaim our lives―from those who would take it away.
Today―the visible has become invisible―the invisible rules.
Let us now return to the absolute.
As for fear―it’s living theater.
