Born in 1974 in Tábor, Ladislav Nagy read English and philosophy at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. His doctorate focused on contemporary British fiction.
With Martin Hilský, Ladislav Nagy edited the anthology From A Nightinghale to A Parrot, and published three studies of British fiction: London Same and Different, In Memoriam, and Palimpsests, Heterotopias and Landscapes.
Nagy was the editor of the British section at literature online iliteratura.cz, worked at the Prague Writers’ Festival, while contributing reviews and features to Lidové noviny, Hospodářské noviny, Respekt, and Reflex.
Ladislav Nagy's translations include works by Don DeLillo, Kazuo Ishiguro, Jeffrey Eugenides, Robert Irwin, Julian Barnes, Harold Bloom, and Umberto Eco.
Ladislav Nagy will speak with Jan Němec and David Zábranský.
He lives in Tábor.
