Ronald Stuart Thomas was born in 1913 in Cardiff and now lives in Gwynedd. He has published more than twenty books of poems since his first collection The Stones of the Field appeared in 1946. Neb, an autobiography written in Welsh, surfaced in 1985; his Collected Poems were published in 1993. "One of the finest poets this century, he is forever experimenting with an amen."
